Introduction

Anyone accepted by the Organizing Committee of RAEG'98 to present papers at the symposium should prepare camera-ready manuscripts in full paper style. The manuscripts will be gathered and printed as the symposium proceedings. The proceedings will be handed to the participants at the symposium and will be made available later for purchase to other interested people. The text of the proceedings will be reproduced directly from the camera-ready manuscripts prepared by the authors. To expedite the publication, please follow the instructions given below.

Submitting Manuscripts

(1) Paper Submission by Ordinary Mail

Mail the quality original and two copies to the address listed below. The manuscripts must reach by November 16, 1998. Please be advised that any material sent for use in the publications will not be returned.

Mailing Address:

Dr. Toshiki Watanabe
Department of Earth Resources Engineering,
Kyoto University
Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, 606-8501
JAPAN

(2) Electric Online Submission

Prepare your manuscript in one of the following format:
*.rtf (Rich Text Format)
*.doc (Microsoft Word95 File)
*.ps (Postscript (Level2) File)
*.pdf (Portable Document Format)
We prefer *.rtf (Rich Text Format) rather than *.doc (Microsoft Word95 File) to avoid virus problems. Do not send Word97 files or higher.

Put your manuscript in a single file. The file name is consisted by your paper ID that you have already been informed and file extensions that represent file type separated by "." (dot).

For example: ab012345.ps (for PostScript file)

A compressed archive file (*.tar.Z, *.tar.gz, *.zip, *.lzh, *.sit, *.hqx) is acceptable if you have to send multiple files. It is always a good idea to compress your file for transmission via network.

(a) Submission by FTP

Log in our FTP site as a guest user:
  % ftp tansa.kumst.kyoto-u.ac.jp
  Account : raegpost
  Password: gojyunotou
After logging in, select ASCII mode or binary mode according to the type of your file.
  ftp>ascii # ASCII file
  ftp>binary # Binary file
Then, send your file and quit the session.
  ftp> put file-name
  ftp> bye
All you can do in this FTP session is just put your file in that directory. To protect other files, you can not list the name of files in the directory or delete any file or move to another directory. The Technical Program Committee will send you a receipt as soon as possible.

If you would like to correct your manuscript you have already sent, put the new file with a suffix "new" to indicate which one is newer.

For example: ab012345new.ps (for PostScript file)

You can not delete any file even if it is yours. The most recent file at November 16, 1998, will be adopted for publication unless you specify the file.

(b) Submission by E-mail.

Send e-mail to
  raegmail@tansa.kumst.kyoto-u.ac.jp
by November 16, 1998. We can handle attachment files encoded by both uuencode and base64. The use of e-mail submission is strictly limited only if you can not use FTP. Our mailing spool may have insufficient spaces to receive many large files at the same time.

Proofreading

The received manuscripts will be proofread by the Technical Programing Committee. In case they apparently do not meet our requirements and/or some serious mistakes are found, the authors will be requested to revise the manuscripts.
